My name is Erin Caldwell and I am a Sophomore here at the University of Rhode Island. I am a Secondary Education and English major and I am thoroughly excited to be on this exciting career path. I have always had a passion for learning, and as the saying goes, the best teachers are often the best students. I am from Stoughton, Massachusetts -- a town that especially values education. I am the youngest of four which means that while my education has kept me book smart, I am also constantly learning life lessons at home. I love to cook, read, write and travel especially. After I graduated high school I went abroad to Italy for four months and was involved in an exciting language program through Education First. I had a number of amazing experiences over there and I hope to return one day to perhaps teach at an international school. I spend my summers at a residential camp in New Hampshire for girls teaching swim lessons, life guarding, and taking care of a cabin. I also supervise other counselors in my village and try to instill in them what I feel makes an exceptional camp counselor. My biggest pet peeve is when people leave water running and lights on when they are not using them and my favorite quality about myself would certainly have to be my sense of humor!
